Our History

Our roots were planted two decades ago, when a group of experienced counsellors from Walton shared a vision of providing counselling services to people in the local community who could not necessarily afford it.  And so the Counselling Partnership was born as an independent charity, enlisting counsellors to volunteer their time to run counselling sessions across North Surrey.

Over the last two decades, our charity has gone from strength to strength.  We have recruited nearly 160 counsellors to provide our counselling services – all of them volunteers – providing an average of over 1,600 counselling sessions a year.  We have also been supported by 40 trustees and volunteer support staff.
