What's Troubling You?
If something is troubling you, talking with a trained counsellor could be the answer. The Counselling Partnership offers one-to-one counselling for up to a year to support you through difficult times. We understand that it is not always easy to talk about problems. We are trained to listen and to help you explore your feelings without judgement.
How Can Counselling Help You?
Counselling – or ‘talking therapy’ – will give you a safe time and place to talk to someone who won’t judge you. By talking through your problems together, we aim to help you:
- Make sense of things and understand your feelings better
- Feel more empowered
- Resolve complicated feelings – or find ways to live with them
- Recognise unhelpful patterns in the way you think or act and find ways to change them (if you want to)
- Build your self-confidence and self-esteem
- Increase your independence through resilience
- Address depression and anxiety symptoms
How We Work
We help clients facing a range of issues including depression, anxiety, bereavement, anger, stress, abuse, loss, phobias, post-traumatic stress, relationships, self-esteem, trauma and work or career-related issues.
Should you consider counselling with us, we will book an initial appointment which is just between yourself and an assessment counsellor, who will help you decide on the next step. If we feel counselling could help and you would like to continue, you will be offered regular weekly counselling sessions and see the same counsellor every week.
All clients are offered an initial course of six weeks of counselling sessions. After this time, you and your counsellor will decide whether to extend your contract further – this can be for up to a year.
Each counselling session lasts for 50 minutes, at the same time each week, with the same counsellor for the length of your counselling contract.
